The Martindale is used to determine the abrasion and piling resistance of all kinds of fabric structures. The test specimen is rubbed against known abradants at low pressure and in continuously changing directions tracing down a lissajous figure, and the amount of abrasion and pilling is compared against standard photographs.
The unit has the latest drive mechanism and is a sturdy, virtually maintenance free machine for continuous running. The unique design allows removal of individual sample holders for examination.
The equipment has touchscreen operation and is provided with a complete set of accessories.
