Dennison Wax

Paper

The Dennison wax sticks are used for research and qaulity control of printing papers, en therefore are particularly useful for papermakers and printers. The wax test, or pick test, is suitable for testing coated as well as uncoated papers and is performed by evaluating the surface force of the paper, also called the pick resistance. The test correlates well with printing press conditions.
The wax sticks have a certain adhesive power, from 2A with the lowest tack, up to 23A, and correspond with the increasing adhesion of the fibers or the coating. They are supplied in boxes of 8 sticks, and we also offer a starter kit with one stick of each level, a pull block and a burner. The Dennison wax sticks comply with the TAPPI, CPPA and ASTM standards.
