Pressure density cup

Inks Paints

The pressure density cup is used to measure the specific density of paints and similar products. It is of higher precision than the standard picnometer due to the test sample being compressed in a stainless steel cylinder to 10 bar to eliminate the air or gas bubbles inside.

Density is then calculated by weighing the cup and its contents and subtracting the tare weight of the cup.
